The yoga dog pose is also known as downward facing dog, mountain pose or parvatasana. It is a major component of the
yoga sun salutation
series (Surya Namaskara).
The dog asana is good for strengthening the arms and legs and it also improves circulation in the upper body.
It is important to listen to your body when you practice this pose. Do not push yourself too hard or your back may suffer. Progress gradually and safely with your yoga practice.

Make sure to keep the hips and neck relaxed.
