Fiction Book of the Month

My fiction book of the month for October 2009 is The Choice by Nicholas Sparks.

After reading last month's At First Sight from the same author, I wanted to read more of his work. The best-selling author who wrote the famous book The Notebook outdoes himself again in a dramatic story about a man and a woman who meet in their thirties. The first part of the book is set 11 years earlier, and shows us how Travis Parker and Gabby Holland met. It's romantic and touching but don't be fooled into thinking that the main story is already told.

The second part skips ahead in time and this is where you'll need to have a supply of tissues handy. I don't want to ruin the book for you, so I'll just say that it's a dramatic love story that discusses an important life and death decision.
