My relaxation book of the month for November 2007 is The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. This book is written as a fiction novel but, depending on your beliefs, could be categorized as a non-fiction book. I found it very enlightening and believe that most people would benefit from reading this book. It's about a quest to get 9 insights about spirituality before the government of Peru gets a hold of them and destroys them all for fear that such knowledge would be detrimental to the world. Kind of the The Da Vinci Code: Special Illustrated Edition: a Novel with a greater purpose. It's very easy to read and no matter where you are in your religious/non-religious/spiritual growth, you should find it very interesting to say the least. |
My non-fiction relaxation book of the month for November 2007 is The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich by Timothy Ferriss. Doesn't the title make you want to pick up the book, just in case the author's right? Well, stop hesitating and pick it up. I read it and agree with the author. A 4-hour workweek is possible and Timothy Ferriss gives you the step-by-step guide to doing so. Following his instructions will allow you to improve your productivity, decrease the hours you spend at work, give you great ideas on what kind of business you could start (if you wanted to) and most importantly, remind you that wasting all of your "good years" at work may not be the solution. Will you really be able to enjoy all those hard earned dollars when your body isn't quite up for it anymore? Give it a read and your perspective on life might change for the better. Highly recommended. |
