My pick for July 2007 is A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court by Marianne Mancusi. Warning: it is a romance novel, but it isn't your typical corny and cheesy romance book. Sure it has lots of cheesy lines, but the main character, Kat, is your typical American woman who somehow gets sent back in time. Results? You can imagine how a 21st century woman could fit in with King Arthur, the knights of the round table and Sir Lancelot... Light and easy read for the summer. And at this price, what a steal! |
My non-fiction pick for July 2007 is The Money Coach's Guide to Your First Million by Lynnette Khalfani. Yes, once again, I'm recommending a financial self-help book. Considering the amount of financial education that I received at school (probably similar to yours), I believe that there is always something more to learn about how to make money and keep it in your pocket. Lynnette's book is well-written and easy to read. The 7 smart habits that she suggests are down-to-earth and not at all far fetched. One item that surprised me is how investing in your reputation can actually help you financially. I suggest you give it a try. What have you got to lose? |
