For December's book of the month recommendations, I suggest a great love story set in Antartica and a useful book containing more than 1001 ideas on romance.
Once you've read them, I'd love to hear what you think. You can use the book review form below to send me your comments.
My fiction book of the month for December 2009 is Sun at Midnight
by Rosie Thomas. It was a light read that I particularly enjoyed thanks to the beautiful descriptions.
Alice Peel, a British geologist whose mother is famous for her documentaires in Antartica, ends up going on a summer expedition on the same continent her mom feel in love with.
The descriptions are beautifully written and make you want to visit Antartica. The plot centers on Alice and her emotional situation, with the artist boyfriend she left home in England and possible new love interests in Antartica... and there's a secret she wants to keep.
It's a romantic novel taking place in a different setting where love has more than its regular obstacles to overcome: the harsh weather and unpredictable indicents may be preventing the entire crew from leaving the continent in time...
My non-fiction book of the month for December 2009 is 1001 Ways to Be Romantic: Now Completely Revised and More Romantic Than Ever by Gregory J.P. Godek.
Now, who can claim to be the most romantic person on earth? I'm certainly far from that, so I have been reading this book to inspire me.
You'll find all sorts of romantic tips, ideas and gifts that will help you build a stronger and more passionate relationship with your partner.
Valentine's Day will be around the corner in no time... time to read up and know how to be romantic this year! (or perhaps buy your partner this book for Christmas... hint-hint)
