This month's fiction book of the month recommendation is a great read about a police detective and an egotistic serial killer. The non-fiction book recommended below will be useful to those who create dynamic websites.

My fiction recommendation for August 2010 is Run for Your Life by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge.
These two writers teamed up to write a page-turner. It's the story of detective Mike Bennett who deals with an egotistic serial murderer who calls himself "The Teacher".
The writers did an amazing job at bringing the characters to life. I felt so sympathetic to Mike Bennett who had to juggle his job responsibilities and the fact that his 10 kids have the flu. I'd love to hear what you thought of the Teacher... Parts of me (the dark and evil side that stays hidden) kind of agreed with the way he thought... But I was definitely ruling for the detective and other "sane" people...
Great action-filled novel that will keep you interested until the very last paragraph.
My non-fiction book for August 2010 is Plug-In PHP: 100 Power Solutions: Simple Solutions to Practical PHP Problems by Robin Nixon.
If you're building your own websites and are looking for handy dynamic features, this book will interest you. It's up to date and contains lots of every day code that you can simply plug into your pages.
For example, you can post Tweets, create Google graphs, check spelling, crop images, add watermarks to images, embed YouTube videos, convert currency, etc.
The book covers such a wide array of subjects that I highly recommend peeking at the table of contents to understand the wealth of information that this book has to offer.
