Relaxation Activities and Ideas

The cheapest and most effective relaxation technique is at your disposal right now. You can use anywhere and anytime. Do you know what it is?

It's breathing but not your regular shallow breathing. Simply concentrate on your breathing for a few minutes. You can use this technique here:

Breathe in with your nose and fill your lungs, let your diaphragm expand and stomach raise. Hold it for a second or two, then release it all out, slowly, through your nose. Wait a second or two then inhale deeply again. For more breathing techniques, visit:

Another useful relaxation technique is to listen to music. If you're stressing out over company coming over to dinner, listen to some music while cleaning the house, cooking or even while getting dressed.

Eating and preparing comfort food can also be a great way to relax. This is particularly true if you are taking care of some 7-year old kids who have too much energy.
