Hi
Learning how to relax your mind is important, especially if you're returning to school or returning to work in just a few weeks.
In this month's newsletter, I'll give you some aromatherapy relaxation techniques and helpful information to help you unwind at home.
Aromatherapy has been used for centuries to treat many ailments, including stress. I know that some people have preconceived notions of what aromatherapy is, and sometimes they dismiss it straight away out of fear of being seen as a "hippie or gypsy".
This is why I'd like to offer a few different methods to use essential oils, and most of them are quite subtle. - Aromatherapy Compress. Fill a large bowl with warm or cool water. Add 3 drops of essential oil and mix well. Dip a face cloth in the bowl and wring out. Apply to your skin.
- Body Lotion. Take unscented body lotion and add 4 drops of essential oil per ounce of lotion. Mix the lotion with a stir stick and use the lotion within 30 days.
- Drawers and Closets. Dab a few drops of essential oil on a cotton ball or on a tissue and place it in a drawer or in your closet. Replace as the scent evaporates.
Lavender is commonly used to help people relax and sleep better and there are many ways to use this essential oil. For example, lavender massages can be used to relieve insomnia, to relieve stress and to balance your emotions. Use 10 drops of lavender essential oil in 30 ml (1 oz) of carrier oil. There are many other essential oils that you can use to relax your mind at home. You will find a list on this page:
